A first field trial was carried out on 16-18 January 2019, at CRES wind turbine test facility, near Athens, Greece. During the test, we were able to test the functionalities of the system due to the low wind at low height. However, the wind at high attitude was too strong (exceeding the allowed wind speed for maintenance work), the system was not allowed to climb to reach the wind turbine blade to test the performance of the shearography unit.
